About the Author:
My name is Ved Dattaray, and I am very interested in Social Anthropology and Ethnomusicology. Ever since I was a little boy, I have always had a tremendous interest in history and cultures. In addition to that, I was also interested in music, as I play two musical instruments. These two interests of mine combined together, to help form my now interest in Ethnomusicology. I am fascinated with how music of different cultures helps to identify different cultural groups, show how people of different cultures have evolved, as well as show how music itself has evolved within different cultures as cultures evolve more and more over time. Throughout this blog, I will be writing about numerous cultures and the different types of music played in these cultures, as well as what this music might represent in that culture, along with why these songs may have been sung in the first place, and how certain instruments are connected to their respective cultures.
